This is a good point. Often, if I learn about a narcissist's childhood, they have horrible, if not horrific, stories. It's a catch 22 because I personally believe that understanding other's stories (even when they mistreat us) is important for humanity. Yet, that same compassion and empathy can make us stay around longer or break no contact.

This is detailed so well that it seems many people can relate to it. Thanks for sharing.
